Actually the best food in Sligo was in our own hotel. Not the most genuine atmosphere but both food and service is top class.

The cafe was full so we were seated in the kitchen restaurant. Cloth napkins, carafe of water, etc. Quieter, more private and excellent service. Pudding was a work of art. The restaurant has won many awards and I can see why.

I ordered the traditional dish and it was just potatoes, fresh vegetables, and no meat at all—just two very small pieces. I've had the same dish in other places in town and it was much better.
The place and the waitress were very good.
